THE DIRECTOR OF ACSS
Dr. Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah
The Director of ACSS has vast academic credentials and professional experience in the global sport field. He was the First Director of the National Sports College in Winneba, Acting Chief Executive of the National Sports Council (Now National Sports Authority), and Director of Sports at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
He was a Member of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Body of Sports Experts; the Chairman of the Africa Union Bureau of Sports Experts that formulated the Africa Union Sport Policy for Sustainable Development; a Member of the Commonwealth Advisory Body on Sport in charge of East and West African Commonwealth Nations and a Member of the United Nations International Working Group for Sports for Development and Peace. He was the former Director of Sports and Chairman of the Management Board at the Sports Directorate of the University of Ghana
Dr. Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah holds a Higher Diploma in Athletic Coaching from Hennef Sports College in Germany; Advanced Diploma in Sports Management from International Sports Academy in Germany, Master’s Degree and Doctorate Degree in Physical Education and Sport Studies from Poland and Executive Masters Degree in Sport Management from the University of Lyon, France.
He is a part-time lecturer in Fitness and Wellness, Sport Management, Sport Governance and Policy Studies at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Studies at the University of Ghana.
